No account required
Zonk does not require an app account. Alarm settings, onboarding state, wake streaks, app-blocking settings, and app preferences are stored on your device or in the app group used by the app and its Screen Time extensions.
Zonk uses a random installation ID for analytics, support, purchases, and backend requests. It is not your Apple ID, email address, or name.
Photo verification
When you complete an AI verification task, Zonk sends the captured proof image and task prompt to our verification endpoint. The endpoint forwards the request to an AI provider and returns a pass or fail result.
We do not intentionally keep proof photos on Zonk servers after the verification response is returned.
App blocking
If you enable app blocking, Zonk uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks to store opaque tokens for the apps, categories, or websites you select. Zonk uses those tokens only to apply your Night Lock and Morning Lock shields. Zonk does not inspect the contents of your apps or browsing activity.
Purchases and subscriptions
Zonk Premium is a paid, auto-renewing subscription. Purchases may be handled by Apple as a StoreKit in-app purchase, or — for eligible U.S. users — by Stripe through a web checkout link. RevenueCat is used to verify and unify your entitlement across both paths. Zonk never receives your Apple ID password or full payment card details; those are held by Apple or Stripe under their own privacy policies.
To attribute a purchase to your install and keep Premium unlocked, Zonk shares your anonymous installation ID with RevenueCat and the checkout provider, and stores your subscription and entitlement status — such as whether Premium is active, the plan, and trial, renewal, or expiration dates — on Zonk's billing backend and with RevenueCat. This record is keyed to your anonymous installation ID, not your name, email, or Apple ID.
For eligible U.S. users, the app only shows the web checkout link after the backend confirms checkout is available. When you check out on the web, Stripe processes the payment and notifies Zonk's backend of the resulting subscription status so Premium unlocks in the app.
Analytics
Zonk may use privacy-conscious product analytics to understand whether onboarding, alarms, app blocking, verification, and purchase flows work. We avoid sending proof photos, raw selected app names, custom wake-task text, emails, phone numbers, or payment details as analytics events.
Your choices and deletion
You can delete local Zonk data from Profile in the app. That removes alarms, wake streaks, onboarding state, app-blocking selections, and cached analytics events from your device. Deleting the app also removes most local app data.
Subscriptions and payment records are managed by the provider used at checkout, and your entitlement status is stored on Zonk's billing backend keyed to your anonymous installation ID. Use Profile to manage subscriptions, or contact oliver@deep24.com to ask about or delete backend billing records tied to that ID.
